The tour departs from Shatti Al-Qurum, located near the Intercontinental Hotel. Oman boasts a rich cultural heritage, featuring over 500 forts, castles, and towers, each with its own unique historical significance. Commencing at 9 a.m., the journey takes us to Nizwa, renowned as Oman's cultural capital. Our first stop introduces us to the charming ancestral village of Birkat al-Mawz, nestled at the base of the verdant Jebel Akhdar (green mountain). Subsequently, we explore the captivating Nizwa centre, with its imposing fort (exterior viewing) and its massive circular cannon tower, showcasing remarkable Omani architecture. A stroll through the traditional Nizwa Souq offers a glimpse into local life. Following a satisfying lunch at a local restaurant, our itinerary proceeds to the historic Jabreen Fort, built in the 17th century and celebrated for its magnificent plasterwork, carved doors, and intricately painted wooden ceiling beams. Our journey then takes us towards Jebel Shams, one of Oman's most famous mountains, passing through the ancient town of Bahla, featuring its fort (exterior viewing). As the day concludes, we return to Nizwa downtown, and from there, we make our way smoothly back to Muscat, ending the tour at Avenue Mall before facilitating your transfer back to your hotel.
